I took first turn, he failed to seize the initiative. I deployed my Land Raider on one end, the speeders on the other, with the Rhinos holding close to the Land Raider, and the Thunderwolves milling about in the middle. My drop pod landed next to the Baal and took it down, losing 4 Grey Hunters in the explosion, and they got munched on by Mephiston. Over the next few turns he sped the Stormravens up along his long edge to try to deliver the Furisos and assault marines, but between the Land raider and a Typhoon, they were brought down by Turn 3.

Of special note is my newest Land Speeder, which brought down both Stormravens, immobilized the Blood Talon Furioso in it's Stormravens explosion, and immobilized and blew the lascannon off a Razorback, while being immobilized itself from the bottom of Turn 1 onwards.

After losing the Stormravens the Blood Angels assault faltered drastically, allowing my forces to reposition as needed and dictate the remainder of the game. There was nothing wrong with his tactics, he just couldnt pass the cover saves he needed to in order to keep the Stormravens alive, and he couldnt regain his early momentum. The final tally was 7-4 in my favor. In hindsight, if he had been more aggressive with all his forces, and moved the Stormravens slower so they could lend their shooting to the game, things might well have gone better for him. On my end, I was a little conservative with my positioning, but with Mephiston lurking about out of sight in the middle I didnt want to risk letting him have the chance to waltz into the middle of my army. Overall, it was a great game against a great opponent, and would gladly play against him again.
